Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
