Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
